PSCR works with public safety agencies, academic researchers and industry partners in both technology and human/social areas, and system developers to support our mission and accelerate the advancement of public safety communications technologies. NIST PSCR leverages Financial Assistance Awards in the form of grants and cooperative agreements through Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) to stimulate critical R&D, advanced engineering, and product development in key technology focus areas. PSCR will publicize all upcoming and open funding opportunities and post the information to our website. The official announcements for all open opportunities will be available on Grants.gov. Application and evaluation procedures will be described in the individual NOFO.
Current and Upcoming Funding Opportunities
PSCR is excited to announce the release of the NIST Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program – Point Cloud City NOFO for research and development grants and cooperative agreements. Successful applicants will receive funding to generate an extensive catalog of annotated 3D indoor point clouds that can be used by industry, academia, and government to advance research and development in the areas of indoor mapping, localization and navigation for public safety, as well as to demonstrate the potential value of ubiquitous indoor positioning and location-based information. Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program - User Interface, FY2018
PSCR is excited to announce the release of the NIST Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program – User Interface (PSIAP-UI FY18) NOFO for research and development grants and cooperative agreements. Pre-applications are due December 29, 2017. Successful applicants will be invited to submit Full Applications by the end of January 2018 with submissions due March 27, 2018. The NIST Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program (PSIAP) Funding Opportunity awarded $38.5 million to 33 research and development (R&D) projects aimed at advancing broadband communications technologies for first responders.
