PSCR System Tasks

Acquire Video
The acquire task includes the focus and  capture functions of a camera system, and may also include a built-in coding/decoding (CODEC), which can perform the processing function’s encoding/decoding operations. However, in some video systems, such as those used for surveillance applications, the encode operation might be performed in a separate information technology (IT) space.

The demarcation between the acquire and deliver tasks can vary.

VQiPS: Acquire Video
In Example 1, the acquire task, or camera system, includes the encode operation, which is part of the processing function.  In Example 2, the the camera system does not include the encode operation.
