The Government Support Clause (GSC) Template is a feature in iEdison that allows you to generate the exact language that should be used for patents associated with this Invention Report (and any associated Child Inventions) in iEdison, based on the funding information that you have entered for this specific Invention Report (and associated Child Inventions). As such, the GSC generated by the GSC template is only correct if you enter the correct funding for this Invention (and Child Inventions) in iEdison.
This GSC Template should not directly be filed with the USPTO. Instead, it should be sent to your patent attorney, and the language of the GSC should be inserted in the Specification section of your patent application or correcting documentation and filed with the USPTO. Similarly, the GSC Template document generated from iEdison should NOT be uploaded directly into the Government Support Clause section of your Patent Report. Instead, the patent application or correcting documentation filed with the USPTO (and the associated filing receipt) is what should be uploaded in the iEdison Patent Report.
To use the Government Support Clause Template, complete the following steps:
The Government Support Clause Template is accessed through the Invention Report of the patent(s). For more information on opening a Patent Report, see Viewing or Modifying Patent Reports.
NOTE: From within the Patent Report, you may click the "Template" button in the "Government Support Clause" section of the "Supporting Documents" panel to download the Government Support Clause Template.
