Jan 24, 2014: The second part of the IREX IV report, titled IREX IV Part 2: Compression Profiles for Iris Image Compression, is now available for download.

July 12, 2013:  NIST is pleased to announce the release of Part 1 of the IREX IV final report. The document, NIST Interagency Report 7949, gives results from the evaluation of one-to-many iris identification algorithms. Part 2 will establish compression guidelines for iris recognition.

June 21, 2012: The last day to submit an algorithm and receive an interim report has been extended to July 12th. The overall submission deadline remains August 2nd. Algorithms submitted after July 12th will still be included in the final report, but NIST will not be able to provide performance numbers back to participants before the submission window ends.

May 25, 2012: When following the signing and encryption procedures for providing software to NIST, please encrypt using the public key posted at the Encrpyting Software/Data Transmission to NIST. IREX IV is using a different public key than IREX III.

May 24, 2012: A validation package is now available. The validation process ensures the correct operation of participants' software before and after delivery to NIST. The validation images are identical to the ones used in IREX III. For further instructions, see the readme.txt.

May 16, 2012: NIST announces the availability of the final IREX IV Concept, Evaluation Plan, and API Specification. Comments should be sent to irex [at] nist.gov (irex[at]nist[dot]gov).

May 4, 2012: The IREX IV Participation Agreement is now available. Applicants should sign the agreement and send it to the address on the form.

May 4, 2012: NIST announces the availability of the IREX IV Concept, Evaluation Plan, and API Specification, Version 0.2. The document contains further details on the interim reporting of results. The submission window has also been extended to Aug 2, 2012. Comments are welcome and should be sent to irex [at] nist.gov (irex[at]nist[dot]gov)

April 16, 2012: NIST announces the availability of the IREX IV Concept, Evaluation Plan, and API Specification, Version 0.1. The document is open for comment until May 1, 2012. Comments should be sent to irex [at] nist.gov (irex[at]nist[dot]gov).
