Training and Certifications Subgroup


On topics pertaining to the development and management of performance-based evaluation and training programs, capable of adapting to meet the nation's evolving cybersecurity needs. This sub-committee will also explore mapping professional certifications to the NICE Framework. Current Project Teams:

  1.      Framework to Certifications
    • Establish criteria and standards of measurements for effective mapping of certifications - mapping matrix
    • The group will look to improve utilization of performance-based assessments which integrates cognitive/skill acquisition models beneficial to build cyber resiliency for the nation.
  2.      Skills-based Training & Performance-based Certification
    • Capture the how and why of cybersecurity training, certification and credentialing. It will also examine the history of these programs, how they are impacted by new technology and address new concepts and technology, how and why gaps exist, the impacts of future technology, skills requirements and emerging critical skills, and how shifts in skills can be addressed.
    • Model a white paper on one created by the Competitions subgroup and perhaps add the mapping matrix as an appendix to the paper.
  3. Supply and Demand/Training Gap
    • Using the mapping matrix as a resource, the Supply and Demand/Training Gap project team will identify and benchmark solutions to increase the supply of cybersecurity professionals.
