Latent Print AFIS Interoperability Working Group

The mission of the Latent Print AFIS Interoperability Working Group is to improve latent print AFIS interoperability by developing a clear understanding of the issues and challenges at hand and to identify collaborative ways to actively address this national problem.

Conformance Testing

NIST/ITL CSD Biometric Conformance Test Software (BioCTS)tests implementations for conformance to various biometric data interchange format standards. BioCTS for ISO/IEC tests for conformance to selected biometric standards developed by ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 37 - Biometrics and PIV profiles. BioCTS for ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 and ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update: 2013 tests for conformance to selected Record Types of the ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 standard and the ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update: 2013 respectively.

The Mobile ID AD Hoc Working Group

The Mobile ID AD Hoc Working Group developed the Mobile ID Devices Best Practice Recommendation (BPR) that gives guidance and operational requirements that can be used for enrollment, identification, and verification functions for Mobile ID devices. A new Group is being formed to develop the content for the updated BPR  that will include expanded profiles, and scenarios along with inclusion of voice, video and contextual content collection.
