Since 2021, Dr. Jermaine Ford has served as President of Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC). He takes great pride in the comprehensive technical college mission and is inspired to lead the charge for student success. As a first-generation community college graduate, Dr. Ford advocates for underserved populations and has dedicated his career to transforming lives through education. He is an innovative thought leader, passionate about bridging the gap between education and business. His Reimagining Campaign has transformed FDTC, re-engaging stakeholders, and increasing the school’s visibility and engagement with the community. This campaign focused the college on student success, workforce development, and connecting students to high-wage opportunities. Before joining FDTC, Dr. Ford held a number of positions in higher education. He serves on numerous boards, including the Higher Education Research and Development Institute, National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship, American Association of Community Colleges Commission on Structured Pathways, and the Lakin Institute. He also serves on several local economic development boards. Dr. Ford holds an Associate of Arts from Moraine Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Education from Grand Canyon University.
