Metric System (SI) knowledge and fluency in metric measurement usage is a valuable workforce skill set. SI skills and abilities can set personnel apart from others that do not have metric experience. Here are a few tips when implementing metric training within an organization:
The Metric Occupational Training workbook series was developed in the 1970's by the Center for Vocational Education with the U.S. Department of Health Education and Welfare's Bureau of Occupational and Adult Education to provide useful educational information on length, area, volume, weight, temperature, and unit conversion. The workbooks include learning activities and quizzes that apply metric measurements within a variety of occupations but should be interpreted for today's occupations.
