This 1.5-hour session, presented by the NIST Office of Weights and Measures (OWM) Metric Program, introduces The Metric Estimation Game—a hands-on activity designed to help students become familiar with SI measurements.
This session is designed to reinforce using common measurement tools, developing reference points, and building proficiency and confidence in working with metric measurements. Because many educators report that students have limited opportunities to gain experience in metric system use, this activity can increase the occasions where SI abilities can be practiced.
To promote collaboration among members of the same organization, for example teachers within the same U.S. school, grade, or subject, “Group” participation in a webinar session from a centralized facility location can be pre-arranged with the course Instructor, on a case-by-case basis.
