OWM was pleased to host National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) leadership, Don Onwiler, Executive Director, and Mahesh Albuquerque, Chair of the NCWM, for a visit to NIST Gaithersburg, MD campus this September 2022. Don and Mahesh met with several of the OWM staff to discuss current topics related to NCWM committee work, ideas for improving weights and measures training, and other potential NIST-NCWM activities.

They also met with Rich Montgomery, OWM’s new AV Production Specialist, and toured the new OWM video “Studio 220” currently under development. Many new training videos and live streaming products are underway (see "OWM Launches Studio 220 for Inhouse Training Video and Event Production"), and the team brainstormed ideas for future virtual training products via a collaboration between NCWM and NIST OWM.

Last, but not least, Don, Mahesh, and Katrice met with NIST Counsel to discuss our mutual interest in updating the Memorandum of Understanding between NCWM and NIST as we continue our long history of collaboration. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and working cooperatively towards the same goal of promoting equity and uniformity in U.S. weights and measures.
