How does NICE decide which projects to pursue?

NICE selects projects that align with the draft 2026–2030 NICE Strategic Plan and advance its mission to strengthen cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. Priority is given to initiatives that address national cyber workforce challenges, reflect national priorities, and support a coordinated, community-driven approach to building the cybersecurity workforce. Whenever possible, selected projects build on NIST research, standards, and expertise; have sufficient resources to support effective implementation; address real-world challenges using commercial technology; and reflect priorities consistently identified by industry.
