NICE Strategic Plan

The 2021-2025 NICE Strategic Plan outlined the vision, mission, values, goals, and objectives for both the NICE Program Office and the greater NICE community. It was supported by an Implementation Plan developed by the NICE Community Coordinating Council.

Three Working Groups were formed to lead the development of strategies, tactics, and success measures for correlating NICE Strategic Plan goals: “Promote Career Discovery”, “Transform Learning Process”, and “Modernize Talent Management.” These working groups completed over 25 projects to address specific Strategic Plan objectives.

Activities in support of the remaining two NICE Strategic Plan goals, “Expand Use of the NICE Framework” and “Drive Research on Effective Practices for Cybersecurity Workforce Development,” were conducted by the NICE Program Office in coordination with the NICE Community.

Projects brought together key cybersecurity workforce stakeholders to address pressing issues, challenges, and opportunities to help support and further cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. Projects also produced resources that provide insights, best practices and models, and approaches that help to advance cybersecurity workforce efforts across the Nation.

The 2021-2025 NICE Strategic Plan provided a strong foundation for NICE to build on into the future. The NICE Program Office will release its 2026-2030 Strategic Plan in 2026, and will work closely with the NICE community and with cyber workforce stakeholders to pursue goals outlined in that plan.
