Equal Employment Opportunity and Accessibility Office (EEOAO)

The NIST Equal Employment Opportunity and Accessibility Office (EEOAO) provides advice and develops policies for the Director in carrying out responsibilities relative to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967; The Rehabilitation Act of 1973; as well as other laws, Executive Orders and regulatory guidelines affecting affirmative employment and non-discrimination. Efforts include the processing and adjudicating of Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) Complaints, outreach activities; and developing, administering and coordinating the Affirmative Employment Program for minorities, women, disabled veterans, and people with disabilities.

Information Services Office (ISO)

The Information Services Office (ISO) is responsible for creating, maintaining, and disseminating a NIST knowledge base which supports the research and administrative needs required to fulfill the scientific, engineering, and technical mission of NIST.  ISO provides professional scientific and technical research assistance through three primary programs: Research Library Group, Digital Services and Publications Group, and NIST Museum and History Program.

Fabrication Technology Office (FTO)

The Fabrication Technology Office (FTO) group provides a wide range of engineering, fabrication and technical services to support the creation of unique measurement instruments and scientific apparatus needed by NIST scientists and research staff in both Gaithersburg and Boulder. The group provides the mission critical engineering and manufacturing expertise and equipment needed to produce specialized parts and subassemblies for a variety of one-of-a-kind instruments conceived by NIST scientists and engineers. A cadre of highly skilled engineers, instrument makers, and engineering technicians provide this core capability. Beyond fabricating parts and equipment, group staff members work collaboratively with NIST research staff providing research support, technical consulting and testing services. The group specializes in single job/prototype work and short production runs of unique mechanical components. The group also provides mechanical engineering design, optics and glass fabrication, and overall technical solutions for the fabrication and assembly of electromechanical devices.
