Emergency Services Office

To be the leader in security, preparedness, protection, emergency response, and recovery for the National Institute of Standards and Technology, championed by diverse collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure both the workforce and the NIST mission are protected from the ever-changing, all-hazard threat environment.

Welcome to the Emergency Services Office

The NIST Emergency Services Office (ESO) is a function support office for NIST Management Resources Directorate. ESO provides NIST staff, visitors, guest researchers, and contractors a secure environment for them to operate and work by providing services such as access control, emergency preparedness, fire prevention training, and response. These services help our staff protect the information they produce, and ensure compliance with all security, fire, and emergency management standards and best practices. The work the ESO Staff performs helps ensure that NIST meets all its strategic goals and objectives for years to come.
