National Cyber Strategy

In September 2018, the White House released a National Cyber Strategy. The Strategy demonstrates commitment to strengthening America’s cybersecurity capabilities and securing America from cyber threats. Pillar 2 of the Strategy describes promoting American prosperity and places priority action on developing a superior cybersecurity workforce.

“A highly skilled cybersecurity workforce is a strategic national security advantage. The United States will fully develop the vast American talent pool, while at the same time attracting the best and brightest among those abroad who share our values.”

 Priority actions include:

  • Building and sustaining the talent pipeline
  • Expanding re-skilling and educational opportunities for America’s workers
  • Enhancing the Federal cybersecurity workforce
  • Using Executive authority to highlight and reward talent
