Hotel check-in date is one day prior to your first day of training. Ensure that you have selected the correct check-in date. It is advised that you book early, the special room rate will be available until the cut-off date or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.

Metro Subway System

Metro rail service is available from Reagan National Airport (DCA) on the Blue Line to the Shady Grove Metro Station on the Red Line. The Shady Grove Metro Station is in close driving proximity to both NIST and the hotel.

Surrounding Hotels & Commuters

Examiner training participants may choose to stay at a different hotel or to commute daily. If staying at a hotel other than the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center (Training Hotel), examiner training participants must ensure that they arrive to their class on time each day. Transportation will be provided between the training hotel and NIST only. The group room rate is available for rooms at the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center (Training Hotel) only.

NOTE: On your first day of training, Examiners who are driving to NIST should allow an extra 15 minutes to go through the NIST security process at the NIST Visitor’s Center.
