Where is the examiner training location?

Will Transportation be provided between the hotel and training site each day?
Yes. Transportation will be provided between the hotel and NIST during training.

Can I drive my vehicle onto the NIST campus?
Yes. NIST has free on-site parking. You will need government issued photo identification to enter the campus and may be requested to show photo identification while on the NIST grounds. On your first day of training, Examiners who are driving to NIST should allow an extra 15 minutes to go through the NIST security process at the NIST Visitor’s Center.

How do I request to change or cancel my training week?
If you need to cancel or change your training week, contact the Baldrige Program immediately via the examinerlogistics [at] nist.gov (Examiner Help Center).

What time does the training start and end each day?

Are Master Examiners required to attend training on Tuesday?
Yes. Master Examiners should plan to participate on Tuesday, 8:00 am– 5 pm.

Will meals be provided during training?

You must receive an email confirmation for your scheduled training dates before making your hotel reservation.

What is the hotel room rate?
Blocks of rooms have been reserved for examiner training participants at the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center ($193/night plus applicable taxes). All reservations must be made by the “Cut-off date” or until the room block is sold out.

How do I make a hotel reservation?
You must receive an email confirmation for your scheduled training dates before making your hotel reservation.
Contact Marriott Reservations at 1-888-236-2427 and provide the group name, Examiner Training or make a reservation online.

How do I obtain driving directions to the Hotel?

Will transportation be provided from the airport to the hotel?
No. Examiners are expected to make arrangements and pay for their own transportation to the hotel.

Will transportation be provided to the airport after the training?
No. Transportation to the area airports will not be provided after the training course ends on Friday. The Baldrige Program will provide daily transportation from the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center to and from the training location. Contact the hotel front desk for assistance reserving transportation to the area airports.

Can I receive reimbursement for expenses incurred while attending the training?
No. The Baldrige Program provides the training course free of charge to the volunteer board of examiners. Course materials, transportation between the hotel and the training site, and one evening reception are free of charge to all training participants. In addition, the Baldrige Program covers all travel and lodging costs for examiners who participate in a site visit. Examiners or their employers need to cover other transportation, lodging, and other costs related to attending training in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Fortunately, the Baldrige Program has secured a discounted rate at the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center for training participants.
