Mission
The NIST Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) accelerates U.S. innovation by managing partnerships that move federal technologies from the lab to industry and academia. Utilizing expertise in collaborative agreements, intellectual property, licensing, technology transfer policy, and grants to small businesses, TPO connects federally funded research with the marketplace, supports small businesses, and strengthens national competitiveness for the benefit of the public.
