This webpage is currently being updated to reflect the changes and improvements to the NIST SBIR Program resulting from the reauthorization. We appreciate your patience during this transition.
We strongly encourage all small businesses to review the NIST Strategic Priorities to gain further insights into NIST’s commitment to advancing American innovation and industrial competitiveness through its strategic priorities.
Please send any inquiries to sbir [at] nist.gov (sbir[at]nist[dot]gov).
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) issues an annual Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for SBIR Phase I proposals. Phase II awards are limited to small businesses that have successfully completed Phase I projects. Please see Resources for more information on the specifics of the program.
The NIST SBIR FY2025 Phase II Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) No. 2025-NIST-SBIR-02, which was posted on grants.gov, is now closed. Please check back to this site periodically for updates on when the next SBIR NOFO will be released.
