Metrology of Localized Inhomogeneity in Optical Glass

October 16, 2008
Author(s)
Angela Davies
The optical glass industry does not have a standard method of quantiatively evaluating localized inhomogeneities (striae). We are developing an interferometric method and find that the measured wavefront distortion depends on sample position and focus.

Cryogenic Characterization of a Superconductor Quantum-Based Microwave Reference Source for Communications and Quantum Information

October 13, 2021
Author(s)
Alirio De Jesus Soares Boaventura, Justus Brevik, Dylan Williams, Nathan Flowers-Jacobs, Manuel Castellanos Beltran, Anna Fox, Pete Hopkins, Paul Dresselhaus, Samuel P. Benz
We are developing a new instrument, the RF Josephson arbitrary waveform synthesizer (RF-JAWS), for communications metrology and quantum information applications. An important aspect of the RF-JAWS design is the accurate and traceable characterization of

BACnet Measures Up

November 1, 2007
Author(s)
Steven T. Bushby
BACnet was developed to enable integration of building automation and control products from multiple vendors and to allow building owners the freedom to by products based on price and performance, rather than compatibility with currently installed building

Radiative Heat Flux Measurement Uncertainty

October 1, 2003
Author(s)
Rodney A. Bryant, C A. Womeldorf, Erik L. Johnsson, Thomas J. Ohlemiller
As part of an effort to characterize the uncertainties associated with heat flux measurements in a fire environment, an uncertainty analysis example was performed using measurement data from a room corner surface products test that followed the guidelines

… Crystalline Polymers, MALDI, Polymer Standards, Polyolefins, Spectroscopy, Synthesis, covalent …

The Effect of Water Vapor on the Flammability of Fluorinated Refrigerants

March 24, 2025
Author(s)
Gregory Linteris, Michael Hegetschweiler, Valeri Babushok
Possible replacements for the refrigerant R-134a have been proposed in previous work based on their flammability behavior in standard tests of the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration industry. The present work extends that behavior to

A New Spin on Kibble: A Self Calibrating Torque Realization Device at NIST

June 3, 2022
