Digital Evidence

• ANSI/ASTM E3150-18 Standard Guide for Forensic Audio Lab Setup and Maintenance was first added to the Registry on July 7, 2020. 
  • ANSI/ASTM E3150-18(23) replaced the 2018 version on the Registry on April 2, 2024.
• SWGDE 22-F-002-1.0 Best Practices for Chromebook Acquisition and Analysis was added to the Registry on June 6, 2023. This document was removed from the Registry on May 23, 2024 as it was withdrawn by the SDO and removed from circulation | OSAC Public Comments 

Facial and Iris Identification 

• ANSI/ASTM E3115-17, Standard Guide for Capturing Facial Images for Use with Facial Recognition Systems was first added to the Registry on October 1, 2019. 
  • ANSI/ASTM E3115-17(23) replaced the 2017 version on the Registry on April 2, 2024.  

Fire Debris & Explosion

• ANSI/ASTM E1388-17, Standard Practice for Static Headspace Sampling of Vapors from Fire Debris Samples was first added to the Registry on December 1, 2020 | OSAC Public Comments | FACTSHEET 
  • ANSI/ASTM E1388-24 replaced the 2017 version on the Registry on September 3, 2024.
• ANSI/ASTM E3197-20 Standard Terminology Relating to Examination of Fire Debris was first added to the Registry on April 6, 2021 | OSAC Public Comments
  • ANSI/ASTM E3197-23 replaced the 2020 version on the Registry on September 3, 2024.

Fire & Explosion Investigation

• NFPA 921:2014, Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations was first added to the Registry on September 20, 2016. No negative comments and adjudication were received for 921:2014.
  • NFPA 921:2017 replaced the 2014 version on the Registry on November 1, 2017.
  • NFPA 921:2021 replaced the 2017 version on the Registry on September 6, 2022. 
• NFPA 1033:2014, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigators was first added to the Registry on December 22, 2016. 
  • NFPA 1033:2022 replaced the 2014 version on the Registry on September 6, 2022. 

Forensic Toxicology

• OSAC 2020-S-0003, Guideline for Performing Alcohol Calculations in Forensic Toxicology was added to the Registry on May 3, 2022. The Forensic Toxicology Subcommittee requested that this OSAC Proposed Standard be removed from the Registry (effective October 2023) due to the pending publication of ASB BPR 122.  

Seized Drugs

• ASTM E2329 Standard Practice for Identification of Seized Drugs (2014 version) was first added to the Registry on January 27, 2016 | Joint OSAC FSSB and NIST Statement on ASTM Standard E2329-14 (July 5, 2016) | 1st Comment and Subcommittee Adjudication | LRC Comments and Seized Drugs Subcommittee Adjudication 
  • ASTM E2329-17 replaced the 2014 version on the Registry on July 20, 2018.
• ASTM E2548-11e1 Standard Guide for Sampling Seized Drugs for Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis was first added to the Registry on April 3, 2017 | comment adjudication | LRC supplementary comments | appeal | appeal decision 
  • ASTM E2548-16 replaced -11e1 on the Registry on June 1, 2021. 

Trace Materials

• OSAC 2022-S-0015, Standard Guide for Forensic Physical Fit Examination was added to the Registry on November 1, 2022. It was replaced by ANSI/ASTM E3392-24, Standard Guide for Forensic Physical Fit Examination on May 7, 2024.

Wildlife Forensics

• OSAC 2021-N-0001, Wildlife Forensics Method-Collection of Known DNA Samples from Domestic Mammals was added to the Registry on April 6, 2021. It was replaced by ANSI/ASB Standard 138, Standard for Collection of Known DNA Samples from Domestic Mammals. 2022. 1st. Ed. on November 7, 2023.

Interdisciplinary

• ANSI/NIST ITL-1: 2011 (Update 2013) Data Format for the Interchange of Fingerprint, Facial & Other Biometric Information was first added to the Registry on July 13, 2017.
  • ANSI/NIST ITL-1:2011 (update 2015) replaced the 2013 update on the Registry on November 3, 2020.
• ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories was added to the Registry on September 27, 2016 and archived October 5, 2021.
