- Identified two broad areas of effort needed to move toward the goal of high-quality, lower-cost, and more readily available lyophilized products: (1) advancing lyophilization technologies and techniques and (2) strengthening the industry foundation.
- To advance lyophilization technologies and techniques, it was determined that technical innovations will be required in lyophilized products, the lyophilization process, and lyophilization equipment.
- To strengthen the industry foundation, it was determined that the interface between the industry and regulatory agencies must be strengthened for interagency communication and information dissemination and that a well-trained workforce be developed and maintained
