Established in 2018, the company was the first in the U.S. to implement Gefertec's 3D metal printing technology. Since then, FasTech has expanded its capabilities to include cutting-edge CNC machining centers and sophisticated reverse engineering tools. Their services encompass complete part reverse-engineering and CAD development, turnkey subtractive machining for both individual parts and large production runs, and additive manufacturing using Gefertec's wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology.
FasTech's approach provides significant advantages, such as lead times up to ten times faster than traditional methods, nearly 100% material utilization, and the capability to perform weld deposition in five axes without the need for extra support structures. FasTech identified the need for a more detailed action plan to address quality system gaps. A one-day intensive session was held with FasTech management, focusing on ISO 9001 requirements and conducting a gap analysis of the current quality system.
After the session, several days of on-site and remote support were provided to carry out the action plan. This included creating management support systems such as a quality manual, corrective action system, risk management system, measurable quality objectives, personnel qualification processes, document control, records management, and a communication plan.
