Text

Lecture notes by the instructor will be posted here before each class. The homework and Quizzes will be mainly based on the lecture notes.

For SANS, we may use some materials from [3], "Probing nanoscale structures - the SANS toolbox", Boualem Hammouda. This is free at NCNR website

For QENS, we may use some materials from [2], "Qusielastic neutron scattering: Principles and Applications in Solid State Chemistry, Biology, and Material Science”, M. Bée.

Even though it would be useful to have the book by M. Bée [2], it is not required to have the book.

Relevant books:

  1. “Structure Analysis by Small-Angle X-Ray and Neutron Scattering”, L. A. Feigin and D. I. Svergun
  2. “Qusielastic neutron scattering: Principles and Applications in Solid State Chemistry, Biology, and Material Science”, M. Bée,
  3. “Probing nanoscale structures – the SANS toolbox”, Boualem Hammouda
  4. “Neutrons, X-ray and light. Scattering methods applied to soft condensed matter”, edited by Th. Zemb, P. Linder (2002)
