FCSC Impacts

The NIST Flow Cytometry Standards Consortium promotes:

  • Shared measurement assurance tools and standards for flow cytometry measurement confidence
  • Best practices and standard methods developed using data from Consortium interlaboratory studies
  • Improved flow cytometry measurement capabilities

Why NIST?

NIST is a neutral convener for industry consortia, standards development organizations, other government laboratories, and universities.  NIST does not impose standards but instead promotes standardization accepted by consensus.  This role, along with NIST's cross-disciplinary expertise in engineering, physical, information, chemical and biological standards, enables meaningful public workshops, standards development and interlaboratory comparability testing.
