HyPerComp Engineering, Inc., specializes in the design, analysis, development, testing, manufacturing, and certification of filament-wound high-pressure composite vessels for a wide range of applications. HEI is an innovation-driven leader in the composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) industry. As a team of 30 employees, there is great pride put into providing these gas storage tanks, especially as they are at the forefront of developing lighter, stronger, and safer pressure vessels. These products are used in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, military, and industrial gas infrastructure and used in launch vehicles, hydrogen powered aircraft, and other exciting applications throughout the world.
With a focus on breakthrough technologies, HEI has delivered next-generation storage solutions, including the first high-pressure hydrogen automotive COPVs and ultralight fuel storage systems for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) to the U.S. military. HEI headquarters is in Brigham City, UT and greatly benefits from strong relationships with material suppliers testing agencies, and OEMs, providing flexible, cutting-edge solutions for a variety of high-demand applications.

MEP's Role
After training with the iMpact Utah team, the HyPerComp team was equipped with best-practice insights into quality management and audit prep and received hands-on guidance on enhancing product quality. Impact Utah’s training helped transform a “limping” system into a better framework unique to HyPerComp’s needs regarding streamlining operations, enhancing product quality, and increasing competitiveness. HEI doubled in size with employees and revenue and met the original goal of fine-tuning its QMS to adjust to the company's growth.
