LEDdynamics Illuminates the Future Through Innovation as MFG Day 2022 event host

About

LEDdynamics has been at the forefront of the LED (light-emitting diode) industry since its establishment in Rochester, Vermont, in 2000. From standard products to custom solutions, their commitment to excellence and relentless pursuit of breakthrough solutions have led to the development of LUXdrive™ products, including LED drivers, controls, light engines and modules. In the summer of 2019, LEDdynamics moved into their state-of-the-art purpose-built headquarters in Randolph, Vermont. They employ 35 people in office, engineering and production roles at their central VT facility.

The Challenge

Preparing for MFG Day events in 2022, VMEC, part of the MEP National Network™, wished to pursue a client company who would host an in-person event at their facility, had secured the Center's services in the past with successful results, is a growing player in their field and supports the Vermont economy in terms of innovation and workforce hiring practices with skills in design, engineering and applied manufacturing. LEDdynamics rose to the top of VMEC's list, and an on-site meeting at the LEDdynamics facility led to their agreement to be a key player in VMEC's MFG Day agenda. Participation suited LEDdynamic's desire to showcase the company's core competencies to VT-based suppliers and partners as well as their dedication to domestic infrastructure and the steps they took to grow their business.
VMEC has and continues to align LEDdynamics with unique learning and business opportunities. From specific training aimed at continuously improving our workforce skills and processes, to encouraging network events leads to new business relationships.
— Justin Worth , Chief Operating Officer

MEP's Role

LEDdynamics hosted a morning-long event at their Randolph-based facility during VMEC's MFG Day/ Month in October 2022, where several employees took part with key roles in the event, including speaking during the presentation, which focused on how lean practices, continuous improvement and Innovation Engineering played a key role in the transformation and continued growth of their success. Employees also guided tours through the facility, facilitating questions and answers and networking with manufacturing attendees.
