WVUIE Assists Company with Updated Plant Layout Needs

About

Headquartered in Santa Ana, California, the Troy Group’s Wheeling, West Virginia, location provides security printing solutions including check printing hardware, software and consumables for security printing and payment applications. Troy solutions are used by small and medium size businesses as well as large enterprises and governmental organizations to manage fraud, operational risk and comply with government regulations related to protecting information privacy.

The Challenge

The Troy Group needed to update existing plant layout drawings to reflect existing layouts including current safety equipment and means of egress for emergency situations. The company also wanted an up-to-date scaled layout of the Wheeling facility that could be used for future review of processes and space for improvement activities.
It is a pleasure working with David and others from WVU Industrial Extension.  They are a value to our state!
— Kevin Heilman, Director of Operations and Research & Development

MEP's Role

The WVMEP, part of the MEP National Network™, utilized AutoCAD to update existing plant layout drawings as directed by Troy Group, Inc. The drawings included the building shell, beam column layout, equipment in all areas of the plant, warehouse/storage racking, and identification of office and cubicle (without furniture/equipment). The WVMEP also worked with the Troy Group team to identify necessary updates to electrical panel location, location of all fire extinguishers, location of back up/emergency lighting, first aid equipment and supplies, primary and secondary means of egress and muster stations for emergency evacuations.
