Whitney Blake Continues to Create Meaningfully Unique Connections That Lead to Innovation

Whitney Blake Company, located in Bellows Falls, VT, provides full service contract manufacturing for cable, wire and harness components and assemblies for the military/ defense, industrial, medical, aerospace and commercial industries. They manage each aspect of the supply chain depending on requirements, from prototype to testing, from sourcing to manufacturing, and from assembly to labeling and custom packaging.  Other facilities are located in New Jersey and Mexico with 80 FTE in Vermont. 

Whitney Blake wished to continue reinvesting in their ongoing Innovation Engineering program as they had just sent two new team members to Innovation College. They were one of the first VT organizations to embrace and practice IE principles and their continuation of IE tools integration would lead into an ongoing support pipeline for future strategic growth plans.

To sustain the Innovation Engineering Management System (IEMS), VMEC set up a year-long project to support the Senior Leadership of Whitney Blake Company, meant to create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.  This was coincided with continued access to and use of a private company portal through IE Labs with the ability to review ideas that are in the Pipeline and Strategic Plan and how they fit with plans for growth. New strategic innovation requests were drafted for projects to grow current or obtain new customers as well as systems projects. These strategic innovation requests drove IE Create  sessions, supported by VMEC Black Belts and internal Whitney Blake Black Belts, as well as IE Black Belt candidates.
