The object model, consisting of data types, datasets, entities, and devices based on the IEEE 1588 standard, is defined in an object-oriented approach using Unified Modeling Language tool. It can be used to generate source code of the IEEE 1588 standard protocol. The application framework is an architecture of IEEE 1588 applications. It consists of five layers: hardware layer, operating system layer, middleware and tools layer, IEEE 1588 layer, and application layer. This application framework can help ease and simplify the design and development of new IEEE 1588 applications.
