Methane Symmetry Operations - Acknowledgements and References

The author would like to express his appreciation to a number of colleagues, particularly Drs. W.S. Benedict, R.F. Curl, W.J. Lafferty, I.M. Mills, I. Ozier, A.G. Robiette, J.D. Simmons, and J.K.G. Watson for scientific and stylistic criticism of early drafts of the manuscript. He is also indebted to Dr. K.G. Kessler for bringing to his attention several years ago contemporary extra-spectroscopic interest in the vibration-rotation energy levels of methane arising from its potential use as an improved standard of length, and to Mrs. E.L. King for preparation of intermediate and final typescripts.
