Subject to the availability of funding, the AMTech program intends to conduct competitions and issue awards for grants of two types and on an ongoing basis to industry-driven research consortia: planning awards and project awards.
It is NIST's vision that AMTech will represent a sustainable agent that incentivizes the formation of and provides resources to industry-led consortia that have as their goal the development of a shared technology infrastructure that supports advances in advanced manufacturing for U.S. industries.
