Consolidated Metal Products Successfully Prepares for TISAX Level 3 Cyber Certification

About

Consolidated Metal Products, Inc. is a small manufacturer with 150 employees based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been in operation for over 80 years. CMP is the world’s largest full-line producer of high-strength, cold-formed U-bolts. They also produce metal bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, washers, formed and threaded wire products, and specialized industrial fasteners.

The Challenge

In late 2024, Consolidated Metal Products, Inc. completed a TISAX Level 3 self-assessment at their Cincinnati facility with TechSolve, Inc.—the SW Ohio MEP Regional Partner. A deliverable from the previous project was a Corrective Action Identification List that detailed the gaps requiring corrective actions identified during the self-assessment. TechSolve compiled a list of items based on requirement scoring. CMP aimed to achieve TISAX Assessment Level 3 by mid-2025 and chose to work closely with TechSolve to address these gaps.
The TISAX Cybersecurity Remediation, training, and table-top simulation have allowed our employees and key leadership stakeholders to be able to retain our automotive contracts, identify the effectiveness of our cybersecurity plans, strengthen CMP's key personnel to better understand: TISAX and general security awareness, and to proactively prepare for potential cyber-attacks and what our recovery efforts will be in order to pass our TISAX audit and certification.
— Patrick Gallagher, President

MEP's Role

The scope of this remediation project included TechSolve collaboratively guiding CMP employees through customizing our Documentation Toolkit. TechSolve also performed a Vulnerability Scan. Afterwards, our cybersecurity team provided security awareness training and conducted a cybersecurity incident tabletop exercise with CMP's cross-functional team. Since TechSolve is not a Certification Audit Provider, we promised to help CMP select an auditor through the ENX portal marketplace to complete their TISAX Level 3 Certification.
