ARKU, Inc. Grows Its Business by Achieving CMMC Compliance

About

ARKU was established in 1928 in Germany and grew into a medium-sized, innovative company aiming to expand internationally. In 2004, ARKU, Inc. was founded in Detroit and later moved its U.S. headquarters to Cincinnati, Ohio. ARKU, Inc. was a subtenant of Feintool for many years; however, as its business, quality, and innovation expanded, it outgrew that building and relocated in 2020 to a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technologies. ARKU, Inc. manufactures the world's most extensive range of high-performance precision levelers, deburring machines, and coil line applications.

The Challenge

To support manufacturers in the Defense Industrial Base and to bid on government contracts, ARKU, Inc. needed help understanding the new CMMC Framework and achieving Level 2 CMMC Compliance. As a small manufacturer, ARKU, Inc. recognized that after reviewing proposals from other IT consultants and MSPs, TechSolve, the MEP Regional Partner, was the right solution provider and trusted resource for its leadership team and employees.
We are so thankful to have a resource like TechSolve/Ohio MEP to help a manufacturer our size to continue to do defense work by being in compliance with CMMC requirements.
— Nick Miller, President

MEP's Role

TechSolve completed a cybersecurity gap assessment using the CMMC 2.0 Level 2 Practices and Processes so ARKU could understand its compliance gaps and its current state of the organization’s overall security posture. The assessment included a review of ARKU's customer documentation; delivery of remediation to achieve the acceptable SPRS Score; access to a compliance Management Portal via FutureFeed to build and maintain a PoAM and supporting documentation via FutureFeed; and training for all of ARKU's employees to foster a strong cybersecurity compliance culture both in the office and on the shop floor. TechSolve also delivered a Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Plan, an Incident Response Plan, a Disaster Recovery Plan, and a table-top simulation to test ARKU, Inc.'s employees and MSP staff.
