Technology scouting helps when you need a technology but don’t know where to find it. Existing technology can often solve your most difficult new product challenges or process problems. Without trained professionals to perform the search, you may have difficulty finding optimal solutions. Technology scouting goes beyond normal channels to provide a far-reaching perspective on existing solutions to technology problems. Technology scouting:

  • Searches proactively for solutions using specific criteria tailored to your company’s unique needs
  • Focuses on nonobvious solutions to difficult technology problems
  • Brings new insight and awareness from outside core industries and experts in related fields
  • Explores areas not easily accessed directly including government laboratories, universities and private sector sources

Technology scouting taps into existing but unknown sources of information to find solutions that can save your company time, money and frustration.

GENEDGE is a valuable resource that connected our small company with NASA LaRC so that our medical device could be tested at their state-of-the-art facilities. The testing results were included in our patent applications to help secure the intellectual property for our device. We found the facilities at LaRC to be excellent and extremely valuable for small companies like ours as they have equipment and expertise that are too expensive for us to invest in ourselves.
