The Challenge

Hynes has previously worked with MAGNET on continuous improvement activities. They reached out to MAGNET for support with root cause problem solving training. Their goal was to enhance their skills in this critical quality tool across the organization.
Everyone involved in the training had nothing, but very positive comments and I would have them come back in the future to do more training in other areas.
— Bryan Langietti, Senior Director of Quality

MEP's Role

Two root cause problem-solving classes were scheduled to train all key individuals in root cause problem-solving. The training was conducted onsite at their Youngstown facility, with the other two sites joining virtually. The class format was a workshop-style 'Learn-Do' approach, where individuals were divided into problem-solving teams. These teams selected a problem and worked on it during the workshop.

During the root cause phase, individuals received comprehensive training on both Cause and Effect and the 5 Whys methods for root cause analysis.
