Bevolo lanterns are made to last a lifetime. Since 1945, Bevolo has been manufacturing the highest quality traditional, antique, and custom-designed hand-made lighting fixtures. Bevolo was started at the end of WWII when Andrew Bevolo Sr. began the company with the crew of guys that worked with him at Andrew Higgins Ship yard. Many of the techniques and tools he learned about there, as well as at Ford and Sikorsky, are still used 80 years and 4 generations later.
Today, Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights is the largest manufacturer of hand-made, open-flame copper lanterns in the world. No other company can compare to the hand-crafted, high-quality fixtures created every day in the heart of the French Quarter in Louisiana. If you want a high-quality lantern that lasts a lifetime, made by real craftsmen, you want a Bevolo lantern. Lights built over 70 years ago are still burning in the French Quarter today!
Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights has a long history with the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana (MEP of LA), part of the MEP National Network™, repeatedly utilizing their services, including lean training, Quickbooks training, trademark and patent assistance and more. When Bevolo Gas and Electric Lights needed supply chain assistance, the Bevolo team turned to trusted advisors at LCTCS MEP of LA once more.
MEP of Louisiana has always been extremely helpful to us. For 20 years now we’ve been able to reach out to them and been pleased with the guidance and training we’ve received. Most recently being able to give us some new perspective as well as solve a specific supply issue we were having was great as always.
The project began with a supply chain assessment. During this initial meeting with third party provider VersoriumIQ, Bevolo received a 2-hour consultation with supply chain experts. Noted concerns included lack of automation for tracking orders through their process, paperwork remaining key-entry, and difficulty forecasting sales.
Based on the assessment's findings, recommendations for Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights included: considering implementing supply chain metrics, ordering to ship takt time of 8-9 weeks, implementing vendor surveys, and utilizing forecasting. The supply chain assessment project ultimately resulted in cost savings and new investments for the company.
LCTCS MEP of LA also conduction a Supplier Scouting inquiry on the company's behalf, scouting for multiple thicknesses and sizes of tempered glass. Ultimately, a source was identified in Tennessee.
