MTEC Assists Crepini with Sales and Business Development

About

Crepini LLC, located in Dutchess County, New York, manufacturers egg products and prepared foods. Founded in 2007, Crepini has grown its brand throughout the United States and Mexico featuring egg wraps, protein pancakes, crepes, and wrap-ups, which are now sold online and in over 3,500 retail stores.

The Challenge

The executive director of MTEC, part of the MEP National Network™, visited with Crepini to discuss their sales and business development strategies. Crepini needed quality safety training to be able to expand their current product lines as well as their expanded scope into prepared meals as well as bakery operations. Crepini also needed training to satisfy USDA, FDA, and comply with their ready-to-eat HACCP and Food Safety Plan requirements. The company's new section also needed to be integrated into the current SQF Food Safety Certification. For all of this to take place, client needs to train personnel in all food safety aspects. MTEC's third-party resource provided the necessary training.

Keep up the support to small and mid-businesses, it is greatly appreciated!
— Paula Rimer, CEO-FSMS LDR

MEP's Role

In order to comply with all of the necessary quality safety training, four food safety modules were developed by MTEC's expert third party resource.  MTEC also helped secure partial funding for this project through the Workforce Development Institute, Hudson Valley Region. This training took place over the summer of 2024 and included GMP, hygiene, sanitation training for new personnel, SQF training, maintenance program training, internal auditing and verification training, corrective action and problem-solving training, leadership fundamentals for supervisors (new and existing), and conflict management
