Aiken Precision Technologies Retains Sales and Jobs Following SCMEP’s IATF Gap Analysis

About

Founded in 2022, Aiken Precision Technologies manufactures cold forged steel products, including machining in the automotive sector.

The Challenge

Aiken Precision Technologies was looking for an IATF 16949 Gap Assessment to prepare for their May 2022 audit and determine readiness. It is becoming a requirement to have an IATF 16949 quality management system to retain customers and demonstrate adherence to documented systems. This establishes the company’s commitment to high quality standards, telling current customers and potential new clients that they produce reliable products with minimal defects. The standard is an established symbol of quality within the automotive supply chain. They were also in need of coaching for their quality technician.

We want to thank SCMEP for your ordinal and timely support for the IATF audit every year. Please continue to support APT.

— Madeleine Campbell , Quality Supervisor

MEP's Role

SCMEP, part of the MEP National Network™, conducted a two-day gap analysis alongside the APT quality technician to determine the state of compliance and readiness for the audit. In addition, the process familiarized the technician with the standard. The deliverable was the identification of areas that were not in compliance. The company passed their audit and remained certified which in turn retained clients.
