Founded in 1998, Pegasus Industries, LLC, is an automotive supplier and contract manufacturer specializing in Class VII heavy duty truck parts. Headquartered in Kentucky, Pegasus has operations in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and Kentucky. The Chillicothe, Ohio, facility has 185 employees.
The Challenge
Pegasus needed a lean assessment that would give a clear understanding of where opportunities exsisted to improve operational efficiencies, develop a roadmap for improvement, and ultimately expansion. For help the company turned to Ohio MEP | OSU South Centers, part of the MEP National Network™.

MEP's Role
During the assessment, the Ohio MEP | OSU South Centers partnered with Breakthrough Consulting Services to meet with key stakeholders within the company and review performance in the following categories: communication within the organization; visual systems and workplace organization; operator flexibility; continuous improvement; mistake proofing (poka-yoke); quick changeover (SMED); quality; supply chain; balanced production; total productive maintenance (TPM); pull systems (kan-ban); standard work; accounting systems; engineering; performance measurement; sales/customer communication; management/leadership; human resources; and information technology.
