Vetted Tech Inc. is an additive manufacturer in Syracus, New York, striving to consistently provide their customers with the most advanced 3D-printed parts possible. Their state-of-the-art equipment provides tight tolerance parts virtually ready for installation in various materials. While their forté is taking a customer’s drawing from concept to finished prototype, they can also provide small batch production runs to meet demanding schedules.
As Vetted Tech plotted its growth opportunities, the lack of formal AS9100/ISO9001 certification was an inhibiting factor in their target markets. In addition, an opportunity was identified to implement lean/process management software to further improve efficiencies and capabilities in support of the predicted growth. A plan was conceived to implement lean/process management software and adopt a formal AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System (QMS). Vetted Tech contacted Central New York Technology Development Organization (CNYTDO), part of the New York MEP and the MEP National Network™, for support.
From day one, TDO has been a tremendous partner for our business. CNYTDO assisted Vetted Tech with all facets of the project, including training individuals across the entire facility in AS9100/ISO9001 and assisting in the adoption of new supporting QMS procedures and policies. Vetted Tech and CNYTDO implemented lean/process management software to fully initiate the changes. The AS9100/ISO9001 transition included internal auditor training as well as a full QMS overhaul and establishment of a quality manual and top-level procedure manual. This project resulted in increased efficiencies and savings for Vetted Tech.
