ISO Certification Polishes Metalworks, Inc.’s Reputation

About

Metalworks, Inc., of Lincoln, Nebraska, produces precise metal components for all areas of industry. These materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. These components are manufactured and inspected with the latest technology. Since its inception in 1997, excellent service has been their primary goal.  Metalworks understands while they take pride in their products, services, and technology, their primary activity is building relationships. They seek to hire the most qualified individuals to serve on their team.

The Challenge

Metalworks' COO knew a number of the company’s biggest customers were asking about ISO certification in the bidding process. Mike Nagle of the Nebraska MEP, part of the MEP National Network™, and Dan Johnson of HQMS spent one half-day touring the facilities to determine how Metalworks could improve their operation and become ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Through our discussion with the Nebraska MEP and Husker Quality Management Systems we determined that ISO compliance and certification would be required for Metalworks to continue to grow and meet the needs of our clients. The Nebraska MEP was instrumental in leading us through the different stages of the ISO process.
— Wade Goering, Chief Operations Officer

MEP's Role

The Nebraska MEP and HQMS developed a plan with Metalworks to facilitate compliance, certification and annual recertification to ISO 9001:2015 standards. This team helped Metalwork update their quality management system and guided them through the entire ISO certification process. This included help with creating forms, creating and understanding procedures, assistance with the initial certification audit, and the annual audit reviews.
