Budde Precision Machining is a full-service precision CNC machine shop located in Dayton, Ohio. Budde is a recognized leader in the defense, aerospace, medical and automotive industries. Budde is known for their responsiveness and the ability to meet their commitments. They have extensive CNC milling and turning capabilities, are able to hold tolerances as low as 0.0001”, and machine a variety of materials.
The Challenge
Budde Precision is a growing company and recently entered into the aerospace and defense industry. Budde needed to expand their capacity to be able to manage their current and future workload, but lacked the skilled workforce to do so.
Fastlane provides a small company, like mine, access to tools and resources that normally only larger companies have giving me a competitive advantage.
MEP's Role
FastLane, part of the Ohio MEP and the MEP National Network™, assisted Budde by supporting an automation solution, which installed and deployed a flexible robot to tend a CNC machine. This solution has allowed Budde to expand capacity and maximize floor space. This automation update has also shown Budde’s customers that sophisticated production-capacity is a focus of the company.
