Taylor Box Company Experiences Positive Ripple Effects from Polaris MEP Training and Guidance

With the help of: Polaris MEP

Since 1885, the award-winning designers and producers of Taylor Box Company have combined the exacting craft of box making with the world’s most advanced manufacturing equipment in Warren, Rhode Island.

Their approach to packaging combines this history with the uncompromising commitment to creating packaging that captures the essence of a brand. Their design and manufacturing facility remains on the cutting edge of design and production. Their team uses high-speed autoplaten die-cutting, large format foil stamping, and revolutionary Emmeci box and case-making equipment to support customer projects from the idea phase all the way through to your premium, brand-defining packaging.

The Challenge

To support their commitment to continuous improvement and consistent production of image-enhancing paperboard packaging, the Taylor Box Company engaged with Polaris MEP, a NIST MEP affiliate, on a number of initiatives, culminating to with Internal Audit Team and Quality Management System Steering Committee Training.
The cumulative impact of multiple continuous improvement and QMS engagements with Polaris MEP is sizable, positive and ongoing.

MEP's Role

Polaris MEP put together a program to mentor and guide the company’s QMS process by working with their QMS manager and administrator, acting as a sounding board for questions, and making recommendations needed to assure a dynamic, responsive process for continual improvement.

Polaris MEP helped lead, train, coordinate, facilitate and support the QMS Manager, the Internal Audit Team and QMS Steering Committee with management and non-management personnel in Taylor Box Company. Polaris MEP worked with the company to develop impacts, measures and outcomes, with progress communicated on a frequent, formal and regular basis.

This engagement, in addition to prior Lean Manufacturing and Quality Management System training from Polaris MEP has helped the company continue to exceed quality standards and excel in a highly competitive space.
