Opportunity Stanislaus / VOLT Institute

The mission of Opportunity Stanislaus is to improve the economic vitality of Stanislaus County. To do this, Opportunity Stanislaus has identified four key initiatives to focus on: (1) Help existing businesses grow and thrive; (2) Establish a demand driven workforce readiness program which will enable companies to recruit and retain employees; (3) Create an effective messaging campaign promoting Stanislaus County as one of the “Best Places To Work In The Central Valley”; (4) Develop a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

In 2017, VOLT Institute was established. Operated as a program of Opportunity Stanislaus in Partnership with the Stanislaus County Office of Education, VOLT Institute offers expedited, fast-paced training in high paying, in-demand careers in manufacturing. VOLT Institute currently offers a comprehensive Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program that can be completed in 8 months or less. VOLT Institute also offers management development training, such as the Supervisor Development Academy and Senior Leadership Series.

California’s Manufacturing Network, formed and managed by CMTC, provides a broad range of technical assistance services and resources to manufacturers throughout California.  It is a collaboration of more than 25 manufacturing-focused partners who assist CMTC in delivering a statewide Manufacturing Extension Partnership program. 

California’s Manufacturing Network serves more than 1,200 manufacturers annually, generating significant positive financial impacts for our clients and for the public good in California.  The Network measures its performance via third party administered client surveys which quantify satisfaction and impact.
