April 9, 2026
Author(s)
Malgorzata Musial, Samantha Miller, Christopher Suiter, Heidi Klem, Eugene Paulechka, Kathleen Schwarz, Jason Widegren, Demian Riccardi
We demonstrate that a combination of multiscale modeling and experimental 19F NMR can be used to examine the molecular details of how ion-pair speciation changes with temperature and molality. Excellent agreement with experimental 19F NMR chemical shifts

April 8, 2026
Author(s)
Adrika Dasgupta, Jonathan Dean, Galen O'Neil, Nathan Nakamura, Joel Weber, Kelsey Morgan, Yuri Ralchenko, Daniel Swetz, Joseph Tan, Noah Zuckman, Fabian Fritz Kislat
Charge exchange is a process observed in astrophysical environments where highly charged ions interact with neutral atoms or molecules, capturing electrons and emitting X-rays as the excited states decay towards the ground state. Charge exchange-induced X

Impact of Deep-Level Traps on Carrier Mobility in b-Ga2O3 MOSFETs

April 7, 2026
Author(s)
Ory Maimon, Neil Moser, Pragya Shrestha, Minyeong Kim, Sang-Mo Koo, Kyle Liddy, Andrew Green, Kelson Chabak, Sujitra Pookpanratana, Qiliang Li
Ultra-wide bandgap β-Ga2O3-based power devices are promising and rapidly developing, but its mobility in field-effect transistors (FET) falls short of the theoretical value. An electro-optical measurement technique is used to study ionized impurity

Characterization of Electronic Stress-Induced Changes in Multi-Layer MoS2

April 6, 2026
Author(s)
R. Colby Evans, Riccardo Torsi, Pavel Kabos, Jason Holm, Jason Killgore, Paul Owiredu, Gurpreet Singh, Jerzy Sadowski, Angela Hight Walker, Elisabeth Mansfield
Transition metal dichalcogenides like molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) are compelling for next-generation electronic devices. In this work, we investigate the impact of electronic stress on MoS2 to illustrate that observational and phenomenological information

April 6, 2026
Author(s)
James Warren, Francesca Tavazza, Austin McDannald, Aaron Kusne, Howard Joress, David Hoogerheide, Brian DeCost, Kamal Choudhary, Debra Audus
The development of novel materials with tailored properties is a complex, multi-objective optimization problem that has long been a challenge in materials research. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques has

Serum proteome of the Egyptian rousette bat (Rousettus aegyptiacus) reveals signatures of immunity, proteostasis, and metabolism

April 6, 2026
Author(s)
Brooke Genovese, Nistara Randhawa, Benjamin Neely, Gabriela Grigorean, Amy Schuh, Brian Amman, Jessica Elbert, Simon Anthony, Jonna Mazet, Jonathan Towner, Brian Bird
Bats are increasingly studied for their ability to coexist with diverse viruses of human health importance. While this focus has yielded insights into host–pathogen dynamics, baseline physiological data from healthy bats remain limited, constraining

Ultra-High Speed Printing Regime in Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Highly Reflective Metals

April 5, 2026
Author(s)
Natalya Kublik, Laura Duenas Gonzalez, David Deisenroth, zhengtao gan, Bruno Azeredo
Additive manufacturing of highly reflective metals, such as copper and aluminum, often entail excessive energy losses, especially in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). To compensate for reflected losses, high powered lasers and low scan speeds (i.e., ≤ 0.8 m

Determination of Vitamin D and Metabolites in Food-Matrix Standard Reference Materials using Isotope Dilution Liquid Chromatography - Tandem Mass Spectrometry (ID LC-MS/MS)

April 4, 2026
Author(s)
Carolyn Burdette, James Yen, Adam Kuszak, Stephen Wise
Discrepancies exist between reported vitamin D dietary intake and measured status. Hydroxylated metabolites such as 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] may be more bioavailable; however, information on 25(OH)D content in foods is limited. To address this gap and

Nanoscale mapping of composition and orientation in electrospun polymeric nanofibers loaded with carbon atomic wires

April 4, 2026
Author(s)
Simone Melesi, Devon Jakob, Jeremy Schultz, Adam Biacchi, Piotr Pinkowski, Bartlomiej Pigulski, CHIARA CASTIGLIONI, Chiara Bertarelli, Slawomir Szafert, Carlo Spartaco Casari, Andrea Centrone
This study yields a comprehensive nanoscale investigation of the composition and molecular orientation of electrospun poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nanofibers containing halogen-terminated carbon atomic wires (CAWs), a finite-length analog of the

Unification of Multi-Source and Multi-Fidelity Fragility Functions

April 4, 2026
Author(s)
Mohammadamin Hariri Ardebili, Siamak Sattar
The derivation of fragility functions through nonlinear dynamic analysis is a domain that has garnered significant attention historically. The majority of prior research efforts have been focused on the ground motion record-to-record variability and the

A study of the position-dependent response of thermal kinetic inductance detectors through the use of cryogenic beam steering

April 2, 2026
Author(s)
Ian Fogarty Florang, Jonathan Dean, Joseph Fowler, Tom-Erik Haugen, Shannon Hoogerheide, Daniel Jardin, Hans Mumm, Nathan Nakamura, Matthew Natale, Galen O'Neil, Nathan Ortiz, Jeremy Paster, Thomas Rao, Avirup Roy, Daniel Swetz, Joel Ullom, Michael Vissers, Paul Szypryt
There are a number of considerations when designing a low-temperature detector for the best possible energy resolution. One that has been particularly challenging for thermal kinetic inductance detectors (TKIDs) is ensuring that the detector's response to

Formulating, Fitting and Fusing Fragility Functions (F5)

April 2, 2026
Author(s)
Mohammadamin Hariri Ardebili, Siamak Sattar
Fragility functions derived from nonlinear dynamic analysis are a central ingredient in seismic performance assessment and risk analysis of structural systems. This technical report revisits fragility functions from a unified perspective that addresses
