Patty Kiesler (Fed)

Biologist

Patty is a Biologist in the NIST Genome Editing Program. Her work focuses on developing control materials and genome editing control assays that can be used in the advancement of animal biotechnology products created using genome editing technologies (please visit the project page for more information). She also contributes to the efforts of the NIST Genome Editing Consortium to implement measurement assurance for assays that evaluate genome editing outcomes.

Research interests

  • Genome editing measurement assurance
  • Genome editing control materials and datasets
  • CRISPR/Cas genome editing systems
  • End-to-end genome editing workflows
  • Editing reagent qualification
  • Characterization of genome editing outcomes via Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based technologies
