Sanne Aalbers (IntlAssoc)

Postdoctoral Researcher

Sanne received MSc degrees in Applied Mathematics from Delft University of Technology and in Forensic Science from the University of Amsterdam. In 2017 she left the Netherlands for Seattle where she worked as a research scientist at the University of Washington and earned her PhD degree in Public Health Genetics under the guidance of Bruce Weir. Sanne's research focuses on the analysis of statistical methods for forensic and genetic applications. Her research interests also include assessing the impact of novel scientific techniques on the community. Sanne currently works as a postdoctoral researcher within the Applied Genetics Group at NIST, focusing mainly on the development of forensic statistical interpretation methods for DNA sequence data.
