Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG)

Overview

Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) are a set of specifications and requirements against which voting systems can be tested to determine if the systems meet required standards. Some factors examined under these tests include basic functionality, accessibility, and security capabilities. As directed by HAVA, the VVSG is developed for the EAC by the TGDC, which is chaired by the NIST Director.  NIST provides technical support in security, human factors and other areas.  The development of VVSG 2.0 included a significant public working group process.
