  1. What are the registration fees for the conference?
    The general registration fee for the 2020 Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference is $194.00. For in person attendees, the registration fee includes ground transportation to and from participating hotels to NIST, a continental breakfast, buffet style lunch, and an afternoon coffee break with snacks for each day of the conference.
    Webcast registration for the Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference is $80. This fee will cover webcast attendance for both days of the conference. You will also have access to the webcast recording within two weeks of the event.
  2. Will web conferencing be available?
    NIST is currently planning to broadcast all plenary sessions. The breakout and lunch and learn sessions will not be available for remote attendees.
  3. Will any of the sessions be recorded and accessible at a later date?
    The webcast recording will be ready for paid attendees to view on demand within two weeks of the event.
  4. What is the current audience?
    The 2020 Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference is for federal and non-federal attendees from a variety of industries and disciplines to include but not limited to executives, regulators, and operators.
  5. How many people are you expecting to be at the conference?
    We are anticipating between 600-700 in-person attendees at the 2020 Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference.
  6. Is the conference limited to federal staff only?
    The conference is for federal and non-federal employees from all industries and disciplines.
  7. Will I get a certificate of attendance for attending the conference?
    Unfortunately, NIST will not provide CEUs/CLEs certificates of attendance. Attendees are always welcome to self-report to their authoritative certification bodies to request CEUs/CLEs.
  8. I would only like to attend one session, is that possible to do without registering for the conference?
    Conference registration is required to attend any part of the conference sessions.
  9. Is there a limit to the number of sessions I can attend?
    There is no limit to the number of sessions that registered attendees may attend.
  10. Can I transfer my registration to another party?
    NIST Conference registrations are non-transferable.
  11. What is the cancellation policy for the conference?
    Any cancellation requests must be received in writing or by email no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time EST Monday, April 27, 2020, to be eligible for a refund of the entire registration fee. Email inquiries to tina@fbcinc.com or call 301-206-2940.
  12. What services are available for special needs and requests?
    NIST is happy to accommodate conference attendees with special needs. Please direct special accommodation requests to pauline.truong@nist.gov.
  13. Will presentations be made available to the public after the conference?
    Broadcasted conference sessions along with the presenter’s slides will be made available on the website following the conference with presenter’s permission within two weeks.  
  14. Can I submit multiple submissions?
    Individuals and organizations are welcome and encouraged to submit single or multiple submissions related to the conference themes and topics. For information on where and how to submit a proposal, please see the Call-for-Speakers page.
  15. Can I submit a presentation for something other than a presentation?
    NIST accepts submissions for all presentations, panels, and lunch and learn sessions.
  16. What hotel should I stay at during the conference?
    The list of participating hotels for the 2020 Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference are available HERE.
  17. Will transportation be provided from the participating hotels?
    Transportation will be provided from specified hotels. If you have booked a room at the participating hotels, upon check-in please schedule your trip(s) with the front desk to and from NIST so they can confirm the shuttle schedule. Please see shuttle schedule below, subject to change. Registered conference attendees do not need to get off the hotel shuttle upon arrival at the NIST Visitor Center. Please have your Gate Dash Pass and a photo ID* ready to show the Security Officer when he/she boards the shuttle.
  18. Will transportation be provided from the metro?
    NIST provides shuttle service for official visitors and staff to and from the Shady Grove Metro Station from 6:45 am to 6:10 pm. Visitors using Metro can meet the NIST shuttle at the east side of the Shady Grove Metro Station at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The shuttle runs daily from 6:45 am to 6:10 pm. The NIST shuttle will stop at "Bus Bay C." The last NIST shuttle leaves Shady Grove Metro at 6:10 pm.  The shuttle returns to the station from NIST on the hour and half-hour from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The shuttle departs from the front of the NIST Administration Building (101) at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour. The last NIST shuttle leaves NIST at 6:00 p.m. The ride between NIST and the Shady Grove Metro Station takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Registered conference attendees do not need to get off the NIST Metro Shuttle/Public Transportation upon arrival at the NIST Visitor Center. Please have your Gate Dash Pass and a photo ID* ready to show the Security Officer when he/she boards the shuttle.
  19. Can I take UBER/LYFT/Taxi to the conference?
    Taxis/Personal Drivers are not allowed on campus; there is a 10-minute walk to Building 101. You will be dropped off at the Visitor Center, located at NIST Main Gate. Please have your Gate Pass and a photo ID* ready to show the Security Officer at the Main Gate.
  20. What meals will be served at the conference?
    A continental breakfast, buffet style lunch, and an afternoon coffee break with snacks will be provided each day of the conference. Please direct any dietary special needs to nist-acrm@list.nist.gov.  NIST will do their best to accommodate your needs.   There is also a NIST cafeteria next to the conference that has a wider variety of meal options.
  21. Can my organizations sponsor the event?
    NIST is not accepting sponsorships for the 2020 Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference.
  22. Can my organization participate as an exhibitor during the event?
    NIST is not accepting exhibitors or vendors for the 2020 Advancing Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference.
  23. Are there going to be any NIST-sponsored after-hours social events?
    NIST is not currently hosting or sponsoring any social or networking events.  However NIST encourages attendees to network and engage with fellow conference attendees before, during and after the conference.  Outside organizations are welcome to host an after-hours event that are not NIST-sponsored.  Organizations are welcome to create a flier and provide to conference services to have at the registration desk.
